CBS Cancels Wednesday Edition of '60 Minutes' - New York Times

Can you believe this. And they call this a democracy - ok so argue that this is all due to ratings and stuff, but what I am concerned about is that if this new program raised concerns about G Bush, why did it do so if they had no proof. Without meaning to look like I want to believe what they say, they are completely destroying our faith in the news media as well as the implicit promise of free speech. If the news is being manipulated so that it sells and if the government is pressuring the sellers to withdraw it then what is the point.. what is in store for us poor readers of the news who are caught in the cross fire of untruth and corruption ?
