Everyone needs his own place! After many months of trying to define what I want to do with my space... I still can't decide. A reflection on life perhaps ?

The Wrath of Khan

Ok, so I saw that movie AGAIN. I didn't really remember the story but could clearly see where it connected to the next one. I wonder whether they already had the script of the next one ready or whether they just thought of it at the end... whether the scene were Nimoy tells "bones" to remember and then walks into the Radioactive chamber to lift the globular top of goodness alone knows what and restart the Enterprise, was just thought of kind of impromptu.. I wonder. That particular scene reminded me of the old Ford Cortina that my dad used to have. How my brother and our driver, Jeet Bahadur, and the mechanic and a whole host of other people had tried at various times to bring that car back to life. However, it just died again. I think I only ever rode in it once, around the block. He sold it for about 2k. I guess it was worth a lot more... kinda like the Enterprise was to good old Tiberius (James T Kirk for all you unbelievers!)

Illiterate ? Or just ignorant ?

I came across a very interesting statistic on the NOW programme on channel 13 (yes the free channel) on TV. Apparently, 55% of people in the US believe that Darwin's theory of evolution is bullshit. Let me say that again (just cause I can't believe it) ... 55% of the people on the US believe that the theory of Evolution, the fact that the Apes are our cousins, the fact that our genes are related to those of the common amoeba, is not true. They believe instead that the Earth was created in 6 days some 6000 years ago (a few billion shorter than what science claims).

Anyway, so realing from that shock, I was shocked again - 65% of the populus believes that it should be taught in schools that the earth was created in 6 days and man was created by God in his current shape. And this theory, repackaged recently as the theory of Intelligent Design, should be taught in schools as an alternative to the "theory" of Darwin's called evolution... I may sound like an unbeliever, but I am not. I am a God-fearing person, but I am not blind to scientific evidence.

Apparently in Georgia or somewhere, a entire district had a warning put on the science book saying something similar to "this book presents theories which should be interpretted with an open mind..." basically, don't believe this hogwash that Darwin is trying to feed you.

What is the world coming to!
