Everyone needs his own place! After many months of trying to define what I want to do with my space... I still can't decide. A reflection on life perhaps ?

AOL Tos Bullshit.

http://www.aim.com/tos/tos.adp - is where AOL terms of service are. And can you believe the bull that they have written. Apparently when you sign up for an account on AOL, you give up all right to all privacy whatsoever. I quote:

"Although you or the owner of the Content retain ownership of all right, title and interest in Content that you post to any AIM Product, AOL owns all right, title and interest in any compilation, collective work or other derivative work created by AOL using or incorporating this Content. In addition, by posting Content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this Content in any medium. You waive any right to privacy. You waive any right to inspect or approve uses of the Content or to be compensated for any such uses."

Well, thats one messenger service I can get rid off. Let me just check the TOS of Yahoo..

When Veer Met Zaara : outlookindia.com

When Veer Met Zaara : outlookindia.com

"The PCA did its bit to foster Punjabiyat, albeit inadvertently, when it asked Chandigarh residents if they could help lodge some visiting Pakistanis since hotels and rest houses could fall short. The response was overwhelming and Punjabis thronged the Sector 16 cricket stadium to take home Pakistani families from the stream of buses emptying their passengers from Wagah"

This is what Peace is made of. This is what politicians should be aiming towards, for at the root of it all are peoples of the same culture who are struggling to understand why there is a divide.

Neem Tree Wins.

Can you believe these people... some US firm was going to Patent the Neem tree... how funny is that. Talk about stooping to new lows to make money. Fortunately the Indian Research Foundation for Science Technology and Ecology has overturned the patent by proving that the medicinal neem tree is a part of traditional Indian knowledge. Go Neem!!!!

What was he thinking ?

BBC NEWS UK Education Harvard bars admissions hackers

Haha.. this guy from MIT (the real one in Massachusetts) suggested that women have less "innate abilty" than men at maths and sciences. What was he thinking ? Given that radiation is credited to a woman, this guy is surely playing with dangerous stuff. Poor fellow is getting beaten up at school.

Oh the rest of the article is about some students who were acting silly and wanted to get into Harvard by hacking their computers. If they had managed it then they probably deserved to get it frankly. I am sure the admissions board thought the same when they barred them from admission.

Rather an interesting story

BBC NEWS Americas The changing face of US news

Apparently, Dan Rather, a top anchor man for CBS has bowed out. "Just in time" says this article. However, what is to note is the one line that I have been shouting about for the last 4 years... apparently quoted from "David Frum" and "Walter Cronkite" both experienced anchor men (retired I think) - "Network news in its current form is hopelessly inadequate as a real source of information about the modern world."

So tell me something.... what else is new?

Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories

Mozilla Foundation Security Advisories

Much touted Firefox browser shows it has holes as well! What will happen to the world. Its a good thing I stayed with opera, having said which the next thing I am going to see (or some one is going to tell me) is that Opera is the buggiest software ever !! But can anything compare with Microsoft ? I am sure they have an entire framework dedicated to just getting a patch out to Windows and applying it and everything... its probably as big as Windows :)
